🌱 Roots of Resilience:
Planting seeds of learning. Growing futures
Education is Protection
For millions of children, school is more than a place to learn—it’s a safe haven.
Across sub-Saharan Africa, 1 in 5 children aged 6–11 are out of school. Without the structure, safety, and support that education provides, many are left vulnerable to exploitation, including child labor and human trafficking. (1)
But there is hope. Each additional year of education can reduce a child’s risk of being trafficked by up to 7%. (2)
Roots of Resilience is an initiative focused on ensuring that every child and adolescent in underserved communities has the chance to go to school. We believe education builds more than knowledge—it builds protection, opportunity, and lasting resilience.
We’re starting in one village and growing from there, working to remove the barriers that keep children out of school—whether it’s the cost of uniforms, school fees, or basic supplies. Our goal is to make sure that no child is left behind because of poverty.
